Milia are tiny white cysts that appear on the face and chest. They can be produced by the use of some cosmetics, but many people in Portland seem to have a genetic tendency to form them. The contents are compressed cells and oil. They are removed by making a tiny nick in the skin overlying them and expressing the contents with a small surgical instrument.
If you would like more information on how to have milia safely removed from your skin without the possibility of scarring, please call the office at (503) 227-7117 in Portland and ask to schedule a consultation with our licensed esthetician, Helen Carey, RMA, or send an email inquiry requesting an appointment.
You can learn more about milia at American Academy of Dermatology.
